Reports were gathered from the Senior Officers of the principal ships involved during the attack and subsequent rescue attempts. These are reproduced in the link bar at the side of this page. These reports were considered by the Board of Enquiry whose findings are also shown. Included in these findings is the Confidential Admiralty Fleet Order (CAFO) which was issued as a result of the Enquiry and the lessons learned. Details of the wreck are also included here for completeness.
